Fudgy Chocolate Frosting:

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ⅔ cup unsweetened chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ cups dried, pitted dates
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • pinch salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract


  1. Add the boiling water and cocoa powder to a blender and blend on high speed for 30 seconds. Don’t let steam build up!
  2. Add the dates, syrup, vanilla and salt to the blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and let chill for a few hours until it spreads nicely. (4 hours is optimal)
